This just came in from Camouflage over at *AUS* and he's got some exciting news for us! They have just implemented a great new concept (in the COD arena at least) - site awards.

"On behalf of the COD community we'd like to reward webmasters for all the effort they've put into their sites, so the rest of us can get the best gaming experience as possible."

Enemy Down was created in January of 2002 as a Counter-Strike ladder and has been run by SPIKEdog and his admin team since. Enemy Down now includes seven of the top multiplayer games currently available: Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Halo,
Battlefield 1942, Call of Duty, Soldier of Fortune 2 & UT2003

Enemy Down has become one of the UK's most active ladders for
Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat. Our recent expansion and site upgrade has made the interface easier to use and will hopefully lead to more and more clans joining.

Enemy Down is always looking to provide a better service and on top of
our UK and European gaming ladders, we also offer the following
services:

* Public gaming servers
* Regular cup events
* Mini leagues to compliment the main ladders
* A friendly and strong community

Call of Duty Press Release

The up and coming total conversion mod, Call of Duty : Vietnam, released their press release, Here is what they had to say :

Call of Duty: Vietnam is a Total Conversion Modification
for the game Call of Duty. Call of Duty: Vietnam will focus on
several aspects of the Vietnam war Era, we plan to also include
realism in this modification. In the battlefield, you'll fight through
Jungle, Clear out villages and use new tactics than that of Call
of Duty, Ambushes could lurk around every tree, and that creek
bed you may be walking in might be surrounded by the NVA.

Weapons from the Era will also be included, from the M16 A1VN
to the Famous AK-47 Assault Rifle, we plan to have them there!
We will have an official weapons/items list when we finalize it.

If possible, we also plan to try and include a Single Player campaign.
Multiplayer in Call of Duty: Vietnam will nudge you towards team
based tactics, no rambos will survive the jungle envoirment of
Call of Duty: Vietnam.

We are looking for the following positions to be filled:

Modelors, Skinners, Graphics, Animators.

Enemy At The Gates

Enemy At The Gates is on TNT this weekend. It's a great movie that will remind you a lot of Call of Duty. I'm almost positive Infinity Ward used this movie as a reference when making The Battle of Stalingrad and crossing the Volga River levels.

In World War II, the fall of Stalingrad will mean the collapse of the whole country. The Germans and Russians are fighting over every block, leaving only ruins behind. The Russian sniper Vassili Zaitsev (Jude Law) stalks the Germans, taking them out one by one, thus hurting the morale of the German troops. The political officer Danilov (Joseph Fiennes) leads him on, publishing his efforts to give his countrymen some hope. But Vassili eventually starts to feel that he can not live up to the expectations on him. He and Danilov fall in love with the same girl, Tanya (Rachel Weisz), a female soldier. From Germany comes the master sniper Konig (Ed Harris) to put an end to the extraordinary skilled Russian sniper.

ECL League Opens CoD Division

The ECL League opens their doors to the wonderful game of Call of Duty. A unique option this league has, Is you can confer with your opponent on what size teams the match will be played on, For example : If a team had 10 members, and so did your team, you could ask for a 10 versus 10 instead of the default league time size of 5..If no agreement can be made before match time, then the match goes as a 5 versus 5...

"The only division right now is Search and Destroy, But more will be added soon." Says Debris of ECL, So check out their website for any updates about the divisions..

Band of Brothers, The single player mod, Has released version 1.0 of their Mod..Here is a description of the mod :

This is a Call Of Duty Single Player Demo Conversion that will replace all sounds to HBO's Mini Series Band Of Brothers..... It also adds updated skins and a few other tweaks

New CoD leagues at Clanbase.com

Today clanbase launched several new ladders including the unique gamemode "Retrieval". By popular demand using our own petition system we created several new national ladders which included North America, United Kingdom, and Sweden, as well as the standard eurpopean ladders. We have had a huge response at clanbase attacting over 700 clans who are now competing in our ladders with barely 2 weeks since the release date, CoD has has been a great success. As well as our large variety of ladders to compete within we run cups throughout the year which includes the Opencup, Eurocup, and the prestigous National Cup where your nations pride is at stake!!!
