Call of Duty 2 hits stores today.

I'm starting a thread for people to post first impressions of the online game release and any info on bugs or issues.

Post your comments here once you get the game and get a few rounds in online.

Thanks Cool

The graphics are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

It feels a little slow.

I miss the strafe.

I am sure I will adjust to it but I am lovin it.

Oh yeah, the installation of six discs took me 30 minutes but well worth it.

I guess allot of people here still don't have the game yet.

I saw some COD 2 Multiplayer reviews of people that just got the game and started playing on the TWL site forums here:

gripes: wish they could've at least changed the background music every other disc or so during installation

things to get used to: no sprint (my alt key is lonely now). hitting G to throw a nade. no more running over dead bodies for health packs.

game looks great, though.

my initial 2 cents......

Hi Guys,

Well, I have been playing Day of Defeat since it was released. I have to say I really like it.

Oops, sorry about that, well it took forever for CoD2 Shocked

First impression was very good, graphics are really well done Very Happy I like the new weapon choices as well as sound.

- Uniforms, also an A+

But the best thing is how smooth the game plays, just runs very well, no hiccups yet anyway. The A/C is much better than PB .

I like the re-do on the maps.

The Neg.

- It seems like it wouldn't take long for people to get really good at it, I mean the weapons should be handicapped a bit. No recoil, could be a minus.

- Nades, now that is going to take some getting used to. What the hex is up with the nades, you hit the "g" and the thing just flys. No cooking your nades ??

I just picked up the game a few hours ago and have been playing since, I should play it more before anymore comments.

Cheers,
Joe

Sweet!!! I was so hoping they would have an in-game voice chat! Does it still have quickchat? I wouldn't think it would be necessary.

It has quick chat too, but why use that when all you have to do is push one button & people can hear your voice?

Pretty Soon voice chat is going to be a curse, as everyone and his brother starts yeahing crap every 2 seconds, guys will use it to joke around, it will eventually become useless chatter. It's sad, because it's a nice feature. Also it will becomemic night; meaning people will step on each other, as a lot of people will want to talk all at the same time.

I am highly disappointed in COD 2, they took tanks and jeeps out of multiplayer so its just another first person shooter (like theres a shortage of those...)

Cod 1 showed so much potential for a follow on, bigger maps and more of em would have been nice but instead we get nifty graphics. Theres like what....8 multi maps? Thats pathetic IMO.

This player won't let flashy grahics cloud my judgement....I'm highly disappointed........

There's going to be a ton of custom COD 2 maps soon enough.

It seems many people do like the game. I haven't been able to play it enough to comment on how much I like it compared to COD 1 but from what I have seen so far it looks pretty cool.

The DVD that showed behind the scenes, some misson walkthroughs and a few other things was a nice bonus.
I dunno if that came with all COD 2 games or if it was because it was a pre-order. I wasn't expecting that.

You can tell they really worked hard on the SP missions. For COD 1 I thought the SP missions were enough to keep your interest. Most games I buy the Single Player is not even worth messing with.
I'm looking forward to digging in to COD 2 SP when I have time but my main game time is always online MP. Cool

I think they'll make a UO for COD 2 and probably include tanks and vehicles in that. At the moment it's way too easy to just jump in a tank and not very realistic.
I hope they'll be doing that anyway. There are so many things they could do to improve tank realism.
