This is how you block certain websites in Microsoft Edge’s child mode, so your kids don’t see what you don’t want them to see. You can also use the same technique to authorize a specific website if a site your child needs is on a preset white list.

Children’s mode is a special area for children where they can surf the Internet safely. After enabling child mode in Microsoft Edge, the browser blocks all but whitelisted websites and enables Bing SafeSearch. In addition to the protections and limitations, Edge applies a special child theme to make the browser more appealing. Parents and caregivers have several options for setting child mode in Microsoft Edge. You can change the theme, select the age group and allow or block websites. Allow children’s sites in Microsoft Edge

  1. Open the Edge browser.

When you enable child mode in Microsoft Edge, the browser automatically blocks all websites. Children can only access sites that are on the white list. You do not need to manually block the website. However, some users may decide that a whitelisted page is not appropriate for their children. If this is the case, you can remove it as follows:

  2. Open the main menu and press the Settings button.

Note that child mode is not the only way to block websites on Edge. Microsoft offers parental controls with more detailed tools for kids and teens. Kids Mode in Edge is ideal for children under 11. Teens are advised by Microsoft to use the Microsoft Family tools available in Windows 10, Xbox and Android.
